iAchieve Sport

The iAcheve Sports Academy identifies students with athletic talent who demonstrate the potential for progression towards high performance. The program focuses on technical training and sports specific practice including a strong and progressive theoretical curriculum giving our athletes an advanced sporting education.
As a member of the iAchieve Sports Academy, students will engage in challenging learning experiences that foster elite skill development, effective communication skills that require an understanding of higher order thinking skills.
Academy members participate in a long-term physical training program that focuses on:

  • Balance and Coordination
  • Power development
  • Endurance
  • Speed and Strength

Students also do a range of theory-based classroom sessions to enhance their understanding of technique and sporting principles, as well as looking at overall sporting practices including:

  • Goal setting
  • Nutrition
  • Sports Psychology
  • Ethics in sport
  • Fitness components
  • Training principles
  • Biomechanics

Our vision is to promote an innovative sporting institution where high performance and success are demonstrated across all aspects of each student-athlete's growth at Thuringowa State High School. Facilitated through our expert teaching team who are committed to nurturing each and every student to realise their full potential and achieve success in their chosen field.
