Junior Secondary School at Thuringowa State High School
At Thuringowa State High School, we are proud to provide our Junior Secondary school students with a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where every student is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best.
Teaching and learning in the Junior Secondary School at Thuringowa State High School is guided by a Whole School Approach to Pedagogy focussed on high quality curriculum, expert pedagogy and knowing our learners. Our curriculum is underpinned by Universal Design for Learning (UDL) External link, ensuring students can access learning in flexible, inclusive and meaningful ways. We recognise that students learn differently and we intentionally design learning experiences that provide multiple ways for students to engage, learn, demonstrate understanding and experience success. We create calm and connected environments through our Berry Street Education Model External link. Our classrooms value the richness and diversity of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives, embedding these within curriculum, wellbeing and community connections.
