In 2019, Year 7 students are in their fifth year of high school in all Queensland schools and we have developed our junior secondary model.

As part of these reforms, from 2013 Queensland state schools have recognised Years 7, 8 and 9 as junior secondary.

Junior secondary at Thuringowa State High School focuses on the delivery of quality teaching and learning in a supportive environment.

We engage junior secondary students academically, socially and culturally through quality curriculum, community involvement and strong positive relationships.

As a result of the employment of practices specifically targeted to meet the needs of young adolescent we bring about quality outcomes for our students in all areas of their development.
