The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, self-esteem, life skills and employment prospects of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and by doing so, equips them to participate more meaningfully in society. The Clontarf Foundation conducts full-time mentoring programmes in selected middle schools, high schools and colleges that cater for the specific educational needs of participants.

The Clontarf Foundation involves participants in activities, training sessions, camps, and workplace visits to develop a broad range of life skills. Highlights include interstate and regional tours, inter-Academy activities and excursions.

The Academy, in partnership with Thuringowa State High School, works with students to ensure they complete school through to the end of Year 12. Students need to demonstrate that they are work ready through their attitude and commitment to the education and extra-curricular programs. The Foundation will then support participants in their transition from school to further training and/or employment.

Any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander boy enrolled at Thuringowa State High School can apply to be part of the programme. Registration forms will be available during enrolment interviews, at the front office or by contacting Rhys Matsen on 0438 521 249.
