Who are we?
We are a friendly small team who make up a section of the Student Support Services at Thuringowa State High School.
We aren't Teachers or Guidance Officers; we are advocates for Young People. Support is offered to all students within the school, individually, in groups or with parents/carers and family members.

Empower
We support students to engage in their education, identify and assist to overcome any barriers that may restrict or delay their abilities to learn or attend school.
We deliver activities to boost your confidence, well-being, build on life skills, developing positive relationships and friendships.
We support and assist students who wish to explore their options outside of school whilst navigating an education. This includes TAFE, traineeships, apprenticeships, and alternative pathways.
Why we do it
Every young person at some stage in their life, needs a person to walk beside them through the unknown or a range of barriers.
We understand attending school and having an education has multiple benefits to a positive future, and we wish to add some value to those who would like us to assist them along the way.
